Preparation

Despite problems over the winter in many areas of England, Pampisford has not suffered from any serious flooding. The areas that are deemed at risk are shown in this image from the Environment Agency, who claim that over 5 million people are at risk from river or sea flooding and that many more are threatened by ground/surface water, sewerage and reservoirs

Although most areas of the village are safe, it is worth being prepared. The main source of aid is the District Council Flooding page. This details support in the form of council sand-bag provision (call 03450 450 063) or other sources. Note that businesses must make their own preparations.

General guidance is available in their Flood Protection Guide, but Gocompare also have a guide for preparing and protecting your property. Always put personal safety first, but the advice could buy time to limit damage.
